Barry's book, A Cup of Chicken Soup for the Soul® was the fifth book in the series and has sold over 580,000 copies. The series as a whole has over 100 titles and has over 100 million books in print.

Every Sponsor that comes on board will increase your profits and offset any costs you may have in 'paying' or 'giving an honorarium to' a Project Manager / Teacher who may have to put in many hours of work.

We have many TOOLS available on our web site.
Everything from Sponsor letters, to Thank you letters and Sample Ads are there for your use in order to make your project as successful as possible.

Please remember - You will get to keep as much as 75% of all Sponsor money brought in.

If this is a book done by a school, you simply ask your students to write an essay about a Hero in their life.

If this book is done outside a school, you simply ask the community, your members or your mailing lists to submit their HERO stories.

Everyone should get their local media - Radio, TV and Newspapers, involved in story solicitation. Doing this is also a way to get pre-orders for your book as well.
People will hear that a book is being done BY and ABOUT local heroes.
They will probably want to be involved a some level, be it writer or customer.

The stories will be submitted directly on to the web site by the writers.
 

Make sure you tell your story writers that their name is GUARANTEED to be in the book!

The top 100 - 150 stories, as judged by you and your committee, will be printed in the book.
Any writer whose story did not make your final selection process will get their 'Name in Lights' two ways.

• Their entire story will appear on our International web site.
• We will print THEIR name AND their HERO'S name in ourYOU'RE MY HEROTM index at the back of the book.
  

This accomplishes a few things. First, it makes your project ALL INCLUSIVE - No one is left out! Second, on a business level, if someone's name and their hero's name are GUARANTEED to be in the book, it dramatically increases your ability to sell books. Who wouldn't want to buy a book that has their name in it?

Also, since this is a REAL book, it will have an ISBN number.
Just another way to make everyone feel SPECIAL...knowing their name will go down in history.

Each writer will own the copyright to their story.
YMH Books will own the copyright to the book.


Each writer will have to sign a PERMISSION SLIP that gives YMH Books permission to use their story in the book and on the web site. If the writer is under 18, we will ask for a parent's or guardian's signature and authorization.

If YMH books decides to re-use a story in a subsequent book, we will:
Contact the writer, Get their permission to re-use the story.

You decide.
If it works the way you like, both in effort and financial reward, you will most likely want to do it again. You can do it every year, every two years or every five years.

Maybe...maybe not.
It depends on the size of your community.
If your community is really small, it may not make sense to have more than one book.

In larger communities, it really does not matter. You could have two, three or four projects running simultaneously. For instance, some cities have more than 20 High Schools. It would be feasible to have many projects going at the same time. Their markets will most likely NOT overlap.

Your price will be based on volume.
The prices will be the lowest possible to ensure you make the most money on the sale of your books.
